£60M star agrees big six-year deal with Chelsea – announcement imminent
CHELSEA defender Levi Colwill is close to signing a new six-year contract at the club, according to the latest reports.
Colwill made a big impact on the Premier League last season for Brighton and really established himself as one of the best young centre-backs in the Premier League right now.
Brighton, and a number of other clubs, have shown an interest in getting a transfer deal done for Colwill this summer and it has even been claimed that Chelsea will do business if the right amount of money is offered.
However – that is no longer the case as Mauricio Pochettino has been impressed with the lad this pre-season and he is not about to sign up to a new deal.
It’s understood the England Under-21s star was unsure about his future but Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino convinced him he has a big role to play.
talkSPORT has claimed that he has now agreed terms over a massive six-year deal with the Blues.
Pochettino recently said the defender can become one of the best: “He is going to continue with us.
“I am happy with him, his performance was good today, better than what I expected because it is only the first game with us after the season with Brighton. I am so happy, he can be one of the greatest centre-backs in England.”
