£80m midfielder has his had ‘head turned’, with Chelsea keen on transfer deal
Chelsea target Declan Rice has had his head turned by the prospect of playing for a bigger club.
The club are said to be among the top candidates to sign Rice from West Ham this transfer window amid speculation that he wants to make that step up in the game and play for one of the biggest clubs.
Rice has been linked with a move to the club for months now, and even though Thomas Tuchel has other options that he would like to sign this transfer window, the Englishman is a player that he reportedly likes very much.
Now, Eurosport are reporting that sources close to the player believe he is interested in pursuing a move to a bigger club, with the likes of United and Chelsea the most likely destination, but his price tag is proving to be difficult to match.
The Hammers value Rice north of £70million, and he’s a mainstay in Gareth Southgate’s England midfield adding to his price, but the report states that Rice would want wages worth £150,000 a week and a sizeable signing on fee.
Look, Rice is a very good midfielder that could play for one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League, but with all the quality midfielders that Tuchel already has in his squad, do they really need Rice?
There ate many players that we need to sign in the transfer window, but other areas of the pitch. So even though we wouldnt mind seeing Rice signed, we do not need to sign him right now
