£80million striker set to join Chelsea in January after scoring Five goals in four games
According to Evening Standard, Chelsea will sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney during the January transfer window after scoring just five goals in four Premier League games this season.
Nicolas Jackson is an exciting talent but not a reliable goal threat and the Senegal striker missed a sitter in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Chelsea did consider signing another striker in the final weeks of the window, but instead opted to buy versatile forward Cole Palmer in a £42.5million deal from Manchester City.
Toney is currently banned from playing for eight months after admitting to 232 breaches of FA betting rules back in May.
Brentford reportedly value the England striker at around £80million.
