The Blues have made a decent start to the Premier League campaign to set themselves up inside the top four.
After their 3-0 victory over Burnley at the weekend, the Blues are currently five points above Manchester United.
They are also sitting nine points above Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur, with the lead over Arsenal now being 11 points.
However, One thing that had been holding the Blues back had been their home form, with defeats to West Ham, Bournemouth and Southampton ending their 2019.
Meanwhile, with the win over the Clarets at the weekend, Frank Lampard will be hoping that would have been put to rest. But the true test will be what happens over the next few weeks, because the Blues have a real nightmare fixture run at Stamford Bridge coming up.
Following that, Spurs will arrive at Chelsea’s home, before they take on Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 on February 25. Everton are the next side to visit the Bridge, before current champions Manchester City make their visit on March 21.
It’s a real run of fixtures at Stamford Bridge which is going to define how Lampard and his Chelsea side finish the campaign and whether they will qualify for next season’s Champions League.
