Chelsea right-back Reece James has just signed a long-term Chelsea contract that will keep him at the club until 2025.
After an impressive loan spell with Wigan Athletic last season, the 20-year-old has impressed for Chelsea this season and the academy product has already amassed 18 appearances this term.
Upon signing the new contract, James revealed his love for the club and admitted that he’d like to remain at Chelsea for the rest of his career.
He told the official Chelsea website: “I have been here nearly my whole life and I would be happy to spend the rest of my career here. It is the club I have supported throughout and I have committed long-term.”
Reece James has starred in a number of games he has played this season, but the 20-year-old has looked back at the Champions League game against Ajax at the Johan Cruyff ArenA as his highlight of the season.
He said: “It probably is scoring against Ajax in the Champions League. That was the best bit of the season so far, obviously not the start of the game but the second half and when the stadium erupted having been 4-1 down.
For the goal it was a hard ball to hit but I just had to get it on target and hope for the best. It is a shame our next goal was disallowed.”
