Mason Mount is a product of the Chelsea academy, and the young midfielder has benefitted from the transfer ban that was hit on the club.
Mason Mount and a number of youngsters got places in the team due to the ban, and the 20-year-old has impressed for the Blues. However, there is still a lot of room for improvement for the youngster.
Chelsea have been linked with some big money moves in the transfer market since the ban was lifted, and Mount has admitted that he’s not worried that the club could go on to sign a player in his position for up to £80m, and he has revealed that he’s ready to fight for a place in the team.
Mount told the Daily Mail: “For me, it’s about having that same attitude I have had since I was six and making sure I never lose it.
“You just have to fight. You know Chelsea can always buy £60 million or £70m or £80m players that are world-class. They want to come here and take my place.
“Just because I am an academy boy and young, that doesn’t mean anything. But the mentality I have means I won’t be pushed over easily.
“I will fight for my position and keep working hard. At a club as big as Chelsea you have to have that mentality. It always stuck with me. It’s why I am here in the first place.”
