Zinedine Zidane has resigned as Real Madrid manager in the last few minutes, and it’s up to us to figure out how that affects Chelsea.
After a ridiculous three Champions Leagues in a row, Zidane has decided to step down from his position in charge of Los Blancos, with his future now uncertain.
One thing we do know is that the Frenchman is Eden Hazard’s hero, and for a long time the links between the attacker and Real Madrid have been founded on that connection.
The Belgian even said “playing under Zidane would be a dream” in these quotes carried in the Telegraph back in November.
Now that’s a dream that will have to wait, unless something very major changes in the next few weeks.
Perhaps this move will pour some cold water on the Hazard to Real rumours. But they will add an exciting new element to the Blues’ manager chase this summer.
