Chelsea have kept just seven clean sheets in 39 games in all competitions this season and our defence was ripped apart by Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has chopped and changed his defence throughout the season, as well as alternating between a back four and three centre-halves.

Lampard was embarrassed with how easy Bayern Munich carved Chelsea open on Tuesday night and has now identified a centre-back partner for Antonio Rudiger.

According to Daily Mirror, RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano has emerged as a key transfer target for Chelsea following the loss to Bayern Munich.

Upamecano’s time with RB Leipzig could be set to end this summer, as he closes on the final 12 months of his deal with the Bundesliga side.

The 21 year old defender has already stated he will wait until the end of the season before making a decision over his future: “I will speak well with my agents and my parents at the end of the season.

“And we will make the right decision.”
