BREAKING: Three PL players isolated amid fears they have contracted coronavirus

According to The Telegraph, all players at an unnamed Premier League club are undergoing tests for coronavirus after three first-team players showed symptoms of bearing the virus.

One of the three players was placed in isolation immediately earlier in the week after displaying symptoms of the virus.

He somewhat recovered thereafter but has again relapsed with similar symptoms, giving rise to fears that he might be a positive case of Covid-19.

The reports are expected to be available by tomorrow, and if positive, the Premier League will be forced to suspend the club’s weekend fixture.

This comes just a day after the game between Arsenal and Man City on Wednesday night was postponed, with the Arsenal players currently in quarantine after their contact with Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis, who has recently contracted Covid-19.

The football authorities in Spain have decided to suspend the La Liga for the next couple of weeks while all sporting activities in Italy, including the Serie A, remain suspended until at least April 3.

As a result, the pressure is mounting on the Premier League authorities to suspend the league at the earliest, not least playing games behind closed doors.
