Three Chelsea players face ‘late fitness tests’ before it is determined whether they’re fit to face West Ham United tomorrow, according to Physio Room.
The Blues pay a visit to the London Stadium to take on the Hammers, with Maurizio Sarri hoping to extend his winning run in the Premier League to six games.
Eden Hazard was not involved against PAOK midweek and as a result will be fit and firing for our trip to East London. However, three of his teammates face the possibility of missing out.
Emerson Palmieri faces a late fitness test as he continues to battle a sore throat, Physio Room believe. He was not included in the match day squad for our game against PAOK midweek. We had expected him to be involved in that one.
As Standard Sport report, Palmieri moved to assure Chelsea fans he was not injured following that game. We’ll be given some clarity on this situation if he’s involved tomorrow.
Mateo Kovacic was withdrawn during our win over Cardiff City after picking up an injury. Physio Room believe it to be a dead leg, which he will also require a late fitness test for.
We dearly hope that he’s recovered in time to face West Ham. He has really begun to click with Jorginho and N’Golo Kante in recent games.
Pedro left the field late on against PAOK after damaging his shoulder. Thankfully, the injury doesn’t look to be as serious as it was first feared.
Physio Room report that he too will undergo a late fitness test. If he is unavailable, we have Willian, who has scored in two consecutive games, ready to deputise.
