‘If he does not do it he wouldn’t have scored: Tuchel reveals how Chelsea player makes Reece James scored twice
It was a fine Chelsea performance at the St James Park, as Reece James stole the show in a 3-0 win for Chelsea.
The 21-year-old right wing-back scored two stunning goals to put Chelsea ahead before Jorginho rounded it up with a penalty goal.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel hailed the performance of Reece James and admitted it was a team performance as he revealed that Reece James wouldn’t have scored without the help of Callum Hudson-Odoi and his other teammates.
Tuchel said: “It’s a complex game and I think that maybe Reece cannot score if Callum does not do the dribbling, and maybe Callum cannot do the dribbling if Chilly is not opening the space.
“We were dangerous on the first post with Kai, in the middle with Ross and then on the second post with Ruben.
Then it’s possible to score beyond the far post. So that’s why sometimes our strikers are sacrificing themselves to create chances and spaces for the others.”
