Chelsea defeated Bournemouth yesterday in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are known to monitor Bournemouth striker Wilson for a long time as Zola recently confirmed the interest.
The Cherries coach Eddie Howe insists there’s no chance the striker will leave in January.
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says that he is aware of the rumours linking striker Callum Wilson with a Chelsea move in the future.
However, the coach insists that the player is still fully committed to the Cherries, who were defeated yesterday by the Blues in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals.
Howe told media, as cited by Evening Standard:
“I haven’t seen the comments. First I’ve heard about it. Callum’s our player, very focused on us. You could see that tonight, gave everything for the team.”
When pressed on if there’s any possibility Wilson could leave Bournemouth in January, Eddie Howe answered:
“Not from my perspective, no.”
The days before Sarri’s assistant coach Gianfranco Zola also confirmed Chelsea interest in Wilson at his pre-Bournemouth press conference:
”I’m sure there are a lot of players linked with us. Certainly, Callum Wilson is doing very well for that club. He is of interest not only for us but for many.”
