Todd Boehly ready to sell £80,000k a-week Chelsea star for £70million
According to The Athletic via Metro.co.uk, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is willing to sell Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount in the summer for £70million.
Premier League rivals Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Chelsea midfielder.
The England midfielder is out of contract in 2024 and there’s been little to no progress with the Blues in talks over an extension.
Mount rejected Chelsea’s last offer but the club are unwilling to meet his reported wage demands of around £200,000-a-week.
Since buying Chelsea, Boehly has favoured offering long-term contracts like the eight year contract offered to Mykhailo Mudryk following his transfer in January from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Mount, 24, is unwilling to tie himself down to the club into his thirties and with negotiations now at an impasse, it points towards the playmaker leaving the club this summer.
Mount’s situation at Chelsea has attracted interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
