“He smashed Pep Guardiola records, appoint him now” – Todd Boehly told to sign Spanish manager
According to popular Chelsea fan Vince, the Blues should appoint former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique as the next Chelsea boss.
Chelsea have been strongly linked with former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann but Vince is confident Enrique is the right man for Chelsea.
Vince tweeted: “Enrique smashed some of Pep’s records at Barcelona:
- Enrique’s team reached 100 wins in just 126 official matches. It took Pep 139 matches.
- In that period, they netted 359 and shipped 91 goals, while Pep’s team scored 339 and let in 108.
- Very similar in terms of trophies.
“Luis Enrique also smashed Pep’s 28 games unbeaten record with Barcelona, ending his streak on 39 matches.
“One thing that stands out for me is “consistency”. And also he found balance in the team that let MSN attack effectively without too many leaking goals.
“However, he’s some character. He’s his own man and takes no BS. In that sense, if Tuchel was hard to convince to follow a project pattern, we could run into the same issue with Enrique in the future if he’s hired. Let’s say, ‘he’s not a project manager’. He wants to win.
“I have no issues with that. There must be compromise from both sides for things to work. Big clubs have a lot on the line and rarely stay true to a project. I believe we need Enrique to build up a winning environment, tomorrow can take care of itself.”
