Boehly ready to pay €100m to sign star who wants to follow Nkunku to Chelsea

The Blues are ready to pay a fee in the region of €100m for RB Leipzig defender Joško Gvardiol in the summer.

A bid of £70million was reported in the media at the time, but despite all the speculation and all the rumours, the Bundesliga side stood firm and the Blues ended up signing Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana in his place.

However – the young man is still high up on the shopping list of the Blues and it is widely expected that they will go back in at the end of the season, as Boehly wants to continue the trend of spending on the best young talent around.

Chelsea have already landed Gvardiol’s Leipzig teammate Christopher Nkunku, although that deal is yet to be publicly announced, and it recently seemed that the Croatian International suggested that he wants to follow Nkunku to Stamford Bridge
