Agent reveals if star is joining Chelsea as attacker reveals he wants Premier league move
Andre Onana’s agent insists the goalkeeper is ‘very happy’ at Inter amid speculation that CHELSEA have made a move for the stopper.
Incoming boss Mauricio Pochettino is not even at the club yet but there has been alot of speculation in the media that the former Tottenham boss is keen to improve areas of the squad that are a concern.
The goalkeeper, midfield area and a new striker are on the agenda for the Argentine boss – and Onana is a man that has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the next few months
Onana supposedly has had a €40m (£35m/$44m) price tag put on him, with four years still left to run on his contract having only arrived in Milan last year
And according to a recent report on Inter Live, the Blues “really want” to bring in the Cameroon goalkeeper and will make a “concrete attempt” this summer.
Onana, who is excellent with the ball at his feet and recently impressed on the way to the Champions League final, is reportedly a target for the Blues this summer, particularly as the out-of-favour Edouard Mendy has snubbed a contract extension at the club.
But the 27-year-old’s agent, Albert Botines, has made it clear that the Cameroon international is not pushing for a move away from Inter.
‘Transfer market rumours are normal at this stage, but I prefer not to talk about it because it’s very early and now the boy is focused only on the pitch,’ Botines told TVPLAY_CMIT.
‘We have a five-year contract with Inter. He has another four years on his contract and now he is focused only on the Serie A final and the Champions League final.
‘He still has a long contract, don’t worry. He’s very happy, he’s playing for the strongest team in Italy.’
LEAO WANTS PREM MOVE –
AC Milan star and CHELSEA target Rafael Leao has hinted at a possible move to the Premier League, despite recently signing a new contract in Italy.
Leao has been one of AC Milan’s most important players over the past four seasons, registering 40 goals and over 30 assists across over 150 games for the club.
Leao’s current deal is up in the summer of 2024 and while talks are ongoing, a host of Premier League clubs are monitoring his situation in hope that he could become available.
Chelsea have been heavily linked for the last couple of transfer windows and many did expect them to sign Leao in the January window – but other targets were signed and they moved on from the man. But they will be back for the man at the end of the season.
But that idea seemed to be over when he recently agreed a new contract with the Italian giants that should have ended all speculation surrounding his future with the club.
However – such is football, he has admitted his desire to one day play in the Premier League, he said: “Anyone wants to play in the Premier League because it’s a very competitive league.
‘It has engaging football, great teams and a worldwide audience.
“Serie A is currently very well positioned in international football, but I definitely have to say… ‘Premier League in the future.”
