Chelsea wants to sign ‘world-class player’ who argued with Enzo Fernandez on the pitch

Reports have claimed today that Chelsea are one of the clubs who are reportedly going to look to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer.

This comes after sensational reports broke last night that the forward was not looking to extend his stay at PSG past when his contract is set to expire, which would be next summer.

The report went on to say that the French champions were not looking to lose the ‘world-class’ star for free, meaning that they would need to make a decision this summer on what the future holds.

Obviously, this has reportedly set a host of elite clubs into frenzy over the potential to do a deal, and Chelsea are reportedly one of them.

They will of course already have a manager next season who has experience working with the France international, as Mauricio Pochettino was recently the PSG manager.

They also have a star player who knows what it’s like to face Mbappe on the biggest stage of all. Enzo Fernandez lined up against him in the World Cup final back in December.

Argentina came out on top that day, with the Chelsea star later being recognised as the best young player at the tournament.

There was a notable moment between the duo too, where they had a very public argument on the pitch in the heat of the biggest game in football.

Fernandez told Football London: “Yes, I argued with Mbappé, but I don’t like to tell what happens on the pitch. It doesn’t matter anymore what he said. Mbappé is a great player and an example for everyone.”

While Mbappe will certainly be the greatest signing in the club’s recent history, the Blues will be aware convincing him of a move will not be easy at all.
