Chelsea to save their season with signing of 80 goal star – Pochettino wants striker
There has been some claimed that Chelsea will look to sign Mehdi Taremi in the January window after failing to sign a proper striker in the summer.
With Chelsea looking to spend some serious money to improve that attack over the summer – the decision was made by the board to splash £34 million and bring Nicolas Jackson to the Premier League.
The young striker had started to make a name for himself over in La Liga with Villareal and had fast become one of the most dangerous strikers in the Spanish League with his speed and quality in front of goal.
However – the new signing has just one goal since joining the club, despite starting all four league games, and it is no secret that Mauricio Pochettino is disappointed that a more proven striker was not signed.
FC Porto striker Taremi could provide Chelsea with a short-term fix in attack once the January transfer window opens up in just a few months time, the Daily Telegraph has claimed.
The Iran international boasts an impressive record in Portugal, scoring 80 goals and assisting 49 in 151 appearances. There is an element of risk to the signing, but acquiring a goalscorer of his nature could solve a number of issues.
