“I can’t stop loving him” “He’s a raw talents guy” – Gary Neville shocked by what Chelsea man did in 2-0 win over Tottenham
Following Chelsea’s thrilling victory at Stamford Bridge this evening, Gary Neville had all praise for the team.
They defeated London rivals Tottenham 2-0 thanks to goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson, maintaining their chances of making it to Europe the following season.
In his attempt to retain his position at the club for the upcoming campaign, Mauricio Pochettino received a major boost from the outcome as well.
He will be pleased with what he witnessed from his players against his old team, particularly in the second half when they weathered the storm during the halftime break.
They doubled their advantage as a result of a spectacular free kick by Cole Palmer, which smashed the bar and was headed in by Jackson.
Neville was extremely impressed with the effort, and praised Jackson as a whole for his desire and ability to never give up.
Neville impressed by Nicolas Jackson
He said to Sky Sports: “Is it an assist?! It’s a beautiful free-kick from Palmer. It’s absolutely brilliant. I actually think it’s a really difficult chance for Jackson, to get the power on the ball and get it over the two defenders rushing back.
“I quite like Jackson. He gets a lot of criticism. He’s young, he’s raw but he never stops.”
Jackson has done a lot right for most of the season, however things have seemed to sometimes break down at the final moments.
However, his fourth goal of the season today against Spurs went down extremely well, and this was key in ending the momentum their opponents had in the second half.
He is going to play a key role in the end of the season too, with the options limited as for who else to come on and replace him at this stage.
