“He worked closely with Enzo Maresca” – Chelsea wants to sign €80m Manchester city player
According to reports, Chelsea is considering making an offer for Julian Alvarez of Manchester City. The club may be prepared to pay a high price of £80 million to acquire Alvarez.
After playing second fiddle to Erling Haaland for two years, Alvarez has told those closest to him that he wants to perform on a regular basis.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reports that a number of English teams have also entered the competition to get Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez.
Although Man City do not really want to sell their no. 2 striker, but they could be forced to consider if Alvarez asks for a move, and will consider selling for an offer worth €80m.
Chelsea are in search of a centre-forward to share the burden with Nicolas Jackson, who struggled to score consistently in his debut season.
Alvarez worked closely with new Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca at Man City, which could also make him favour a Chelsea move.
