“Before June 30” – Chelsea to complete €50million signing before the end of June
In order to guarantee that one transfer target is recorded on this year’s financial records, Chelsea is eager to finalize the signing of that player by the end of June.
This summer, the Blues have already confirmed one signing, but may they soon reveal another in the coming weeks?
On July 1st, English center-back Tosin Adarabioyo, 26, will formally join Chelsea on a free transfer.
Chelsea want to wrap up signing quickly
Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed via Substack on Wednesday that Chelsea want to complete the signing of Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise before the end of June so it can be on this years financial books.
It is understood that the Blues are confident of winning the race to sign the 22-year-old Palace winger. In fact, they are more advanced than rival buyers in their pursuit of him.
Apparently, Chelsea have already verbally agreed personal terms with the French attacker, who was previously in the club’s academy as a youngster.
Philips adds that the Blues are currently speaking with Palace about the instalments of Olise’s release clause. The negotiations are taking a while to sort because payments will need to be split across the player himself, his agent, and his former club Reading.
Journalist Matt Law agreed on ‘London is Blue’ that Chelsea are favourites to sign Olise ahead of Newcastle United and Bayern Munich.
Why landing Michael Olise would be a statement
Olise, 22, looks like one of the most talented young attackers across the entire Premier League. Wherever he ends up next season, we expect he will be a huge success.
The attacking playmaker, who slots in effortlessly as a right-winger or No 10, is ready to make a big jump in his career.
Despite an injury-plagued season last year, he’s still managed 10 goals in 19 league matches for Palace.
Speaking via talkSPORT (15/06/2024 at 06:52), Tony Cascarino described Olise as a “fabulous talent” with similarities in his game to Arjen Robben.
