‘I want to win trophies with Enzo Maresca ’ – as attacker reveals decision TO JOIN Chelsea
Omari Kellyman has discussed his choice to move from Aston Villa to Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
The 18-year-old attacker Kellyman was viewed as a promising youngster at Villa Park, and Chelsea made a formal offer this month after first expressing interest in him in January.
Kellyman, who was originally valued at £20 million by Villa, will sign a six-year contract with the option to extend for an additional 12 months, and Chelsea has sealed the deal.
Kellyman is expected to train with CHELSEA’s first team throughout the preseason, but he might be loaned away the next year to gain more senior experience and get ready for the next campaign.
‘That was a big attraction for me,’ he explains. ‘I have seen young players stepping into the team and playing week in, week out, in the Premier League and I feel like I will be able to take my opportunity as and when it comes.
‘I want to be successful in the Chelsea shirt; to win games and hopefully trophies. [Over time] hopefully, I can become one of the faces on the side of the stadium. I want to become a big player for this club.’
