“A constant threat in that area” – Nicolas Jackson tells Enzo Maresca his preferred position of playing ahead of next season

Although the former Villarreal striker scored a number of goals in his Chelsea debut season, many supporters are not happy and want more.

Nicolas Jackson anticipates that he will continue to guide Chelsea’s offensive line even after Mauricio Pochettino was fired.

Jackson’s project is being built by Chelsea’s new boss, Enzo Maresca, who has also expressed interest in seeing the Senegalese player included, giving him more assurance of playing time.

Jackson will be hopeful that the new management would start him in a system that will help him score more goals than he did the previous season in an effort to play better.

Jackson scored 14 goals in 35 Premier League games for Chelsea, outscoring several forwards in the league throughout the season.

The 23-year-old was asked about his ideal role during a live interview with some media as he was on a live call with his home country for the international break.

“I enjoy playing up front as a striker because it allows me to use my speed and agility to get past defenses,” Jackson remarked.

“I like to take advantage of gaps and make runs off the last defender’s shoulder to score points.”

To keep defenders off balance, my play style combines fast sprints, deft positioning, and deft movements.

In order to connect with the middle and create space for my teammates to play build-up, I also prefer to periodically drop deeper.

“My ultimate objective is to finish opportunities clinically and be a consistent menace in the box.

“However, I also enjoy it when my teammates assist me by sprinting on the wings when I dive deep to retrieve the balls; I like to see movement so I can pass the balls to them.”
