1pm: Chelsea announce signing of French winger on big four-year deal as midfielder ‘excited’ after Chelsea OFFICIALLY confirms summer move

Sandy Baltimore, a former PSG player, has joined with Chelsea and is thrilled to be joining the WSL’s top team.

After making her PSG debut in 2016, Baltimore has gone on to win one French league title, three French cups, and 43 appearances in the Women’s Champions League.

After leaving PSG, where she played for more than 200 games, the forward has signed to a four-year contract. Chelsea decided to try to bring her to the WSL in an effort to strengthen the team for the forthcoming season.

And Speaking on her move from Paris to London, Baltimore said: “I’m very happy to join CHELSEA. It feels incredible.

“I have always wanted to play for Chelsea and now look, it has happened!”

General manager Paul Green commented: ‘We are delighted to bring Sandy to Chelsea. She is an exciting wide player who will give more balance to the squad, adding another naturally left footed player.

‘Sandy has gained a wealth of experience in France including within the UEFA Women’s Champions League and will bring more competition to the squad. We are looking forward to seeing her in Chelsea blue.’

CHELSEA Academy graduate Michael Golding has completed a permanent transfer to Premier League side Leicester City.

He said after joining the Foes: “I’m so excited to be here,” Golding revealed in his interview upon signing for the Foxes. “I’m looking forward to making leaps and bounds in my career here at Leicester and working hard to hopefully have a good season in the Premier League.

“I’m looking to get more experience this season and be a big player for the team. I’m really looking forward to playing for the Foxes at King Power Stadium in the Premier League, it’s really a dream come true.”

“Obviously the history of the Club speaks for itself, there’s great players here and legends of game such as Jamie Vardy. I’m just looking to soak up as much information as I can from the senior players, to learn from the staff and hopefully have a great season.

“I’m excited to break into the First Team and play with these players. I’m buzzing to meet the lads and hopefully I can get involved and get ready for the season as well and improve on the pitch with the team.”

 

“I can’t wait to get started with training and learning from the Manager,” the youngster expressed. “I’m very excited to learn from Steve Cooper, given some of the players that he’s worked with and his track record of working with young players.

“I’m just ready to get started under him and take as much information as I can to improve in my career. I spoke to him a day ago and he’s really given me confidence just to be myself and show my ability on the pitch when I’m here, so that I can help the team as much as I can.”
