Enzo Maresca told to bench £250,000K-a-week Chelsea star for next season as Lionel Messi reveals what he told Chelsea star after Semi-finals victory

Malo Gusto had a strong season and improved with every game, while Reece James was limited to just 10 Premier League appearances due to injuries last season.

Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf feels that Malo Gusto should start ahead of Reece James in the upcoming campaign, even though Reece James has since returned from injury.

“Listen, Reece James is absolutely brilliant but his injury record is a huge concern,” Lebouef told BoyleSports.

“Malo Gusto was absolutely fantastic for Chelsea and he stepped up when they needed him – I fear it’s not fair on him if he goes to the bench next season in favour of James.

“Gusto has to start over Reece James as he has earned that right after his performances last season. I know James is the club captain but right now you’d have to give Gusto the benefit of the doubt to start given how he performed last season.

“If you cannot play Gusto, they might have to sell him while his stock is so high as they could get a lot of money for him right now.”

Argentina defeated Canada 2-0 in the Copa America semi-final, as goals from Julian Alvarez and Lionel Messi sealed the victory.

Enzo Fernandez struck a shot in the 51st minute that was heading into the goal, but Lionel Messi deflected it past the Canada goalie Maxime Crepeau to become the owner of the goal.

Lionel Messi has revealed that he didn’t mean to rob Enzo Fernandez of his goal.

Speaking with TyC after the game, Messi said: “I told Enzo that it was not the intention to take the goal from him, but I saw that the goalkeeper just lay down, the ball was coming slowly and I deflected it a little.”

The Chelsea midfielder has been having a good tournament in the Copa America, and against Canada he made 73 touches, recorded a 90.5% pass accuracy rate, made three tackles and an interception and blocked a shot.

Argentina will face Colombia in the Copa America final.
