“He hurts us last year” “Time to revenge” – Spain seeking for revenge against Cole Palmer after what he did to Spain

Ahead of the Euro 2024 final, Spain is deliberately targeting Cole Palmer in an attempt to get revenge on England.

The reason for the enmity is a brawl that occurred during the Euro Under-21 final last summer as a result of Palmer’s behavior.

Cole Palmer’s free kick sealed the victory for England’s U21 squad in the final, and he infuriated the Spanish team by celebrating in front of their bench.

In the ensuing heated altercation between the two teams’ players and coaching staff, England’s Ashley Cole and Spain’s Carlos Rivera were sent off.

Spain is now more determined to exact revenge for this.

Asked about his celebration, Palmer said: “I was a bit frustrated with the way they were going down and screaming [earlier in the match]. The celebration was maybe a bit over the top but [I’m] just happy.”

Speaking ahead of the final against Spain, Cole Palmer said at England’s training base on Thursday: “In the first few games we didn’t play the best that we could and everyone knew that.

“But now I think as the tournament’s gone on, especially yesterday, I think we had our best game in the tournament, and that’s what you want going into the later stages.

“It’s huge. We played them last year in the Under-21s final, England versus Spain. Even that was a massive game, so I can’t imagine this one!”
