REVEALED: Why Napoli are so desperate to sell Victor Osimhen to Chelsea

It is proving to be quite an exciting final few weeks of the transfer window for Chelsea when it comes to the striker situation at the club.

The last couple of weeks has seen them return to the table for a potential deal for Victor Osimhen, after he was seen as the number one target for the majority of last season.

Reports claimed though that new manager Enzo Maresca was not as keen on Osimhen, with there being doubts over how he would work his way into the Italian’s system.

Napoli desperate to sell Victor Osimhen
Recently though, the talk of a loan deal has come about after it emerged just how keen Napoli were to part ways with the striker this summer.

According to The Independent, the Serie A side are really struggling with the finances needed to pay the wages he will earn next season, with it expected when he signed his new contract that he would have been sold this summer.

The report goes on to say that Antonio Conte’s desire to bring in Romelu Lukaku also makes doing business with Chelsea an attractive prospect.

The Blues’ attention is not unwavering on Osimhen though when it comes to a potential new striker joining the club.

Chelsea close to signing Samu Omorodion
It has been claimed that they are very close to securing the signing of Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid, with that deal relying on the La Liga side’s ability to sign Julian Alvarez from Manchester City.

Whether this puts an end to Chelsea’s interest in Osimhen or not remains to be seen, however one thing that is for sure is that they would really like to strike a deal that sees them part ways with Lukaku.

The then club-record signing has simply not worked out at Stamford Bridge, and now his bridges are more than burned with the Chelsea fans.

Those supporters will be sick of straight loan moves away, and will want a conclusion to his return as soon as possible.
