After Conor Gallagher departure, Chelsea are keen to make these 3 signings before transfer window ends

This will enable Atletico to sell forward Samu Omorodion to Chelsea in a deal that is different from Conor Gallagher’s £33.7 million trade, for approximately £35 million.

After agreeing the transfer on Monday morning, Gallagher is scheduled to sign a five-year contract with Atletico on Tuesday in Madrid.

While teenage defender Alfie Gilchrist is going to Sheffield United on loan, Chelsea is also seeking to get Victor Osimhen of Napoli.

In addition, Gremio midfielder Gabriel Mec, 16, is a target for Chelsea for £20 million.

The Blues have held talks with Atletico over a potential move for Omorodion as they look to add to Enzo Maresca’s attacking options.

Omorodion is part of Spain’s squad at the Olympics and found the net against Egypt in the group stages.

AC Milan, Roma, Napoli, Nottingham Forest and West Ham are amongst the other clubs that are interested in the forward.

Omorodion joined Atletico in August 2023 as he signed a five-year contract.

He was subsequently sent on loan to Granada, for whom he scored eight goals in 34 LaLiga games.

Chelsea informed Gallagher that it was best for the academy product to move on, with the midfielder set to sign a five-year contract with Atletico.

Gallagher had been open to staying at Chelsea but wanted a longer-term deal than the offer he received of a two year deal with an option of another year.

The London club have also been in talks with Napoli over a deal which could see the Blues sign forward Victor Osimhen, while Romelu Lukaku could join the Serie A side.

The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for Osimhen in recent seasons, with the Nigerian international having starred in Italy.

Chelsea have also been keen to offload Lukaku on a permanent basis having loaned the Belgian out for the past two seasons.

Osimhen has made a huge impact at Napoli since joining in a reported club record £80m move from Lille in 2020.

The forward has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances for the club and played a key role in their Serie A title win in the 2022-23 season.

Osimhen had signed a new contract in December, extending his Napoli deal until 2026.

The deal saw Osimhen secure a major pay rise, while his release clause reportedly increased to €130m (£113m).
