“I’m afraid I might leave Chelsea because of him” – Chelsea star afraid to lose his place after Enzo Maresca accepted £45m Chelsea deal

Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are almost done with Joao Felix’s permanent transfer.

According to transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano, the Portugal star is in London finishing up his physical.

Raheem Sterling, who was left out of the team for our season-opening match against Manchester City, is not going to be happy with this acquisition [of Joao Felix].

According to The Guardian, Raheem Sterling ‘fears’ that the Joao Felix signing for Chelsea would mean that his Stamford Bridge career is over.

Sterling ‘does not expect to be involved’ in the upcoming Conference League play-off clash against Servette on Thursday.

Sterling’s camp demanded clarity from Chelsea and talks over his future are expected soon.

Raheem Sterling’s camp has released a statement, thus: “Raheem Sterling is contracted to Chelsea Football Club for the next three years.

“He returned to England two weeks early to conduct individual training, and has had a positive pre-season under the new coach, who he has developed a good working relationship with.

“He is committed, as ever, to delivering at the highest level for Chelsea FC and the fans, who he holds in high regard, and given his inclusion in official club pre-match material this week, our expectation was that Raheem would be involved in this weekend’s fixture in some capacity.

“As a camp, we have always had positive dialogue with, and assurance from, Chelsea FC in relation to Raheem’s future at the club, so we look forward to gaining clarity on the situation.

“Until then, we will continue to support Raheem’s desire to start the new season positively.”

Sterling is currently Chelsea’s highest paid player, after a big money move from Manchester City in 2022.
