“I don’t want those 21 Chelsea players” – Enzo Maresca reveals he’s working only with these 21 players
Chelsea needs to reduce the size of their huge team. There are 42 players on the Blues roster.
Enzo Maresca, the manager of Chelsea, has stated that he will only use 21 players and isn’t too fond of having a large team. This implies that the 21 other players who are not part of his plans ought to quit the team.
These remarks were made by Enzo Maresca during his news conference prior to Chelsea’s matchup with Servette on Thursday.
“I am not working with 42 players. I am working with 21 players,” said Enzo Maresca when commenting about the size of his squad.
“The other 15-20 players are training apart. I don’t see them. It’s not a mess like it looks from outside. Absolutely not.
“They can even have 20 years contract, it’s not my point. I don’t care.”
Journalist Adam Crafton has slammed Enzo Maresca’s statement, and points out that clubs would now want to pay lesser money to buy these players.
Crafton said: “I don’t understand why any club (unless there’s competing interest creating an auction) would offer any kind of significant transfer fee for these 21 other players the manager has just declared he doesn’t care about.”
