Man Utd & Chelsea opens talks on a Swap deal with two players as Blues announce star is JOINING club after official agreement reached
Manchester United have opened talks with Chelsea over the prospect of swapping Jadon Sancho for Raheem Sterling, according to The Telegraph.
The Red Devils are determined to offload Sancho before the transfer deadline and they prefer a permanent move for the England international.
Chelsea are known to be interested in the 24-year-old and it is claimed that United sporting director Dan Ashworth has made contact with them.
Ashworth has confirmed the Red Devils’ interest in Sterling, but the club are only willing to sign him as a makeweight in a deal for Sancho.
Hence, the Blues will need to pay a transfer fee on top of Sterling.
Meanwhile, the swap deal could also depend on pay-cuts. Both Sancho and Sterling will need to accept huge reduction in their salaries.
United have had a busy summer transfer window. They have already signed Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
Manuel Ugarte is expected to join them in the next 24 hours. They could complete a successful window with the acquisition of Sterling.
Blues announce star is JOINING club after official agreement reached
CHELSEA Football Club has agreed a deal to sign goalkeeper Mike Penders from KRC Genk and ended months of speculation and rumours about whether or not the Belgian star would make the move to Stamford Bridge.
The club have been making alot of transfer moves once again this season to sign some of the best talents in the game and Penders is the latest name to be signed by that Board.
the young Belgian only made his debut for Genk towards the back end of last season, but he has impressed so much that we were ready to pay some big money in order to get a deal done, and then offer the lad a massive contract to sign up too, which is what happened.
CHELSEA posted on the club website: ‘Penders, a Belgium Under-19 international, will join Chelsea from next summer after agreeing a contract with the club until 2032.
‘Penders made his senior debut for Genk last month against Standard Liege. He kept a clean sheet and, at 18 years and 363 days, became the third-youngest goalkeeper to debut in the Jupiler Pro League.
‘The 19-year-old followed that with an outing against OH Leuven and will continue his development in the Belgian top flight this season.’
