Two Shocking reasons why Chelsea failed to sign Victor Osimhen finally revealed
During the last few days of the summer transfer window, Chelsea made a lot of effort to get Victor Osimhen, but a deal never happened.
Following the close of the European transfer window, Victor Osimhen is still a member of Napoli.
However, what actually transpired on the day of the transfer deadline when Chelsea attempted to sign the Nigerian?
On the day of the deadline, a group from the Stamford Bridge club in Naples arrived in the hopes of breaking through.
Chelsea’s failure to fulfill their long-term goal was primarily due to financial constraints, since Osimhen was unable to sufficiently reduce his wage demands.
It was reported on Friday evening that Chelsea had offered Osimhen a contract worth €155,000-a-week, less than he is currently paid at Napoli.
Osimhen was unwilling to take a pay-cut even though he was open to a move to the Premier League.
Chelsea’s delegation left Napoli disappointed late on Friday evening, with transfer insider Fabrizio Romano saying that the relationships between the parties are ‘completely broken’.
With a deal for Osimhen also failing to materialise, Chelsea began to prioritise a move for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho.
