“No football sense” “He will regret his action to Chelsea” – Klopp slams Ten Hag for what he did to Chelsea

Jurgen Klopp, the former manager of Liverpool, has criticized Erik ten Hag’s treatment of Jadon Sancho.

Ten Hag and Sancho had problems last year that evidently were never fixed.

Sancho made an impression on his season-long loan to Borussia Dortmund. After signing for a large sum of money, Sancho now plays for Chelsea on a shoestring.

Klopp was not pleased with Ten Hag’s strategy, and the former manager of Dortmund and Liverpool has stated that Ten Hag ought to have been the one to believe in Sancho even while “the whole world” was against him.

“If the whole world loses trust and faith in the player, the manager has to be the one behind the player,” The Mirror quotes Klopp as saying.

“I cannot just buy into that ‘he’s useless,’ like other clubs did by the way – buying a player for £80 million and then sending him out on loan!”

In a recent interview, Manchester United sporting director Dan Ashworth revealed the reason behind Jadon Sancho’s loan to Chelsea, with Chelsea having an obligation to buy permanently.

Ashworth believes that Man United have four good wingers already in Marcus Rashford, Antony, Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho, and Jadon Sancho could be considered as the fifth.

“We felt we had enough depth in that particular position [on the wing] to be able to cover it,” said the Man United sporting director at a recent press conference.

“We’ve got four really good wide players; Jadon [Sancho] was a fifth, and it just enabled us to make that decision that if it was good for him and good for us it was something we were willing to consider.”

When asked if Sancho’s feud with Erik ten Hag last season had anything to do with the departure, Ashworth replied: “Nothing to do with that.”

For Chelsea, this is indeed a good piece of transfer business. Manchester United will definitely regret it.
