‘He gave us stability’ He is very calm on the ball’ – Chelsea fans told Enzo Maresca to start 26-Year-Old against West Ham

Last Saturday against Bournemouth, Tosin Adarabioyo, a defender for Chelsea, made an impressive substitution for Axel Disasi in the second half.

Having joined on a free transfer from Fulham, the 26-year-old hasn’t played much this season; he played in his first Premier League match this past weekend. Many Blues fans are urging head coach Enzo Maresca to play Adarabioyo against West Ham because the team hasn’t exactly been that strong at the back:

Adarabioyo has presented Maresca with a difficult decision.

Some have speculated that Tosin would start against the Hammers in place of Disasi, with Wesley Fofana switching to right back. But now that Malo Gusto is back in the gym, the 21-year-old is most likely to start in that role.

It could, therefore, be a straight fight between Adarabioyo and Fofana to play alongside Levi Colwill in the middle of defence.

Considering Fofana’s less-than-impressive performances in recent games, there is a good case for starting Adarabioyo.

Chelsea need to build on their victory against Bournemouth
Maresca described the Blues as a “work in progress” following their 1-0 win over the Cherries last week so fans will need to accept that there will be inconsistent performances from the team.

However, they do have the perfect opportunity to win two in a row against West Ham on Saturday. The Hammers are experiencing their own teething problems under new manager Julen Lopetegui. They have already lost two home matches so they could be there for the taking.
