“He’s not an injury prone” “Sorry Reece James” – Enzo Maresca wants to sign player who scored 14 goals last season as  Reece James replacement

Chelsea Is Considering Right-Back Options Amid Reece James’ Injury Problems The club is allegedly concerned about Reece James’ ongoing injury issues, which has led Chelsea to begin looking for a new right-back.

James is one of the most gifted players to come out of Chelsea’s academy, and he is only 24 years old. But he’s never been good at staying fit, and this season has been no exception. He hasn’t played in any games this season despite being the club captain while he heals from a hamstring injury. Regretfully, James was limited to just 11 appearances in all competitions during the previous season.

James’s injury recovery appears to have taken longer than expected, according to recent sources from The Sun. Although Chelsea’s medical staff is proceeding cautiously with his recuperation, there is some comfort in knowing he hasn’t picked up a new injury.

Chelsea Considering Jeremie Frimpong
According to TBR Football, Chelsea is actively exploring the possibility of signing a right-back in the January transfer window to address concerns about James’ fitness. One of the standout names linked with a potential move is Jeremie Frimpong, a 23-year-old star from Bayer Leverkusen.

The club is also reportedly interested in Barcelona’s Jules Kounde, but Frimpong seems to be a primary target. If Chelsea is thinking globally about a replacement for James, Frimpong’s name would certainly be near the top of the list.

Frimpong played a pivotal role in Bayer Leverkusen’s historic Bundesliga-winning season last year, where they went undefeated. In addition to the Bundesliga, they secured the DFB-Pokal cup, making it a remarkable double-winning campaign for the German side.

Frimpong’s stats are equally impressive—he featured in 47 matches across all competitions, playing predominantly as a high-flying wing-back. He contributed 14 goals and 12 assists, making it a standout season for him.

A Backup Plan for the Right-Back Position
While Chelsea fans would love to see Reece James back in full form alongside Malo Gusto as the club’s primary right-backs, it’s understandable why the club is making contingency plans given James’ history of injuries.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Chelsea has been linked with Frimpong. Reports from Defensa Central last December mentioned that the Blues were seriously considering a move for Frimpong as a replacement for James. With these rumors resurfacing, it’s clear that Chelsea is still keeping an eye on the Dutch international.

There’s no doubt that Frimpong is a top-quality player who could thrive in the Premier League. As January approaches, it remains to be seen if Chelsea will ramp up their interest and make a move for the talented wing-back.
