Sir Alex Ferguson reveals ‘One thing’ Chelsea must do to bring back 24-years-old Chelsea star form back

Sir Alex Ferguson, the former manager of Manchester United, thinks Jadon Sancho can return to the level he achieved at Borussia Dortmund, but he needs to continue to have success at Stamford Bridge after leaving Manchester United.

Sancho joined Chelsea on deadline day, first on a loan from Manchester United. Should Chelsea finish outside of the bottom six of the Premier League, the transfer would become permanent for about £25 million.

The 24-year-old must find his best form again in order to secure a regular spot in Enzo Maresca’s starting lineup, as he will face tough competition for spots in the wide areas.

Shearer shares thoughts on Sancho

Sancho has impressed in his first two appearances for the Blues and has two assists to his name after setting up Christopher Nkunku for the winner in his man of the match performance against Bournemouth, before setting up Nicolas Jackson for the opener against West Ham last weekend.

Maresca has stated he sees Sancho competing with Mykhailo Mudryk for a place on the left hand side and right now the England international is comfortably ahead of the struggling Ukrainian.

Sancho’s move to Chelsea is very much a fresh start and an opportunity to get his career back on track after a disappointing spell at Old Trafford.

Chelsea will be hoping they can provide an environment he can thrive in to help Sancho rediscover his best form and Sir Alex Ferguson believes the winger can do that.

“We know there’s talent in Jadon, getting it out of him is the thing and he wasn’t going to be able to show that at Man United,” Sir Alex Ferguson said.

“Jadon has shown that if he’s in the right environment and the right circumstances then he’ll be able to showcase his talent.

“He’s had a decent start at Chelsea but he has to keep it going. We saw it at Dortmund but we didn’t see it anywhere near enough at Man United.

“Chelsea have so many options in Sancho’s position. You can list four or five players that can compete on the right or left wing.

“But if we see the Jadon Sancho that we know can perform then he’ll be a great acquisition for Chelsea in terms of where they want to go”

Sancho will likely return to the starting line-up for Saturday’s game against Brighton after being rested against Barrow on Tuesday evening.
