“I respect him alot” “He’s a baller” – Cesc Fabregas reveals why Chelsea player is the reason they’re in Europe this season

Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes that one Chelsea player is responsible for the club’s return to European football this season.

Of course, it is only the Europa Conference League, but Chelsea is back in Europe this season, unlike last.

Chelsea struggled for much of last season, despite a late surge. Cole Palmer, on the other hand, was not a bad player and often carried the team.

Palmer is virtually the Chelsea story this week; everyone is raving about him and how fantastic he is, which he deserves given his form over the prior two seasons.

Fabregas the latest to praise Palmer

Speaking on the BBC Planet Premier League Podcast, Cesc Fabregas has been discussing Palmer’s time at Chelsea, and he says that the 22-year-old was underrated last season due to how poorly Chelsea were playing as a whole.

“This year things are getting better, but last year it was a difficult moment for Chelsea, and people respect more what he does,” Fabregas said.

“Nobody really realised, every now and then you would see on a Saturday, a goal from Cole Palmer but they lost, an assist for Palmer but they lost.

“Nobody got it all together that he was doing really well, but Chelsea are in Europe this year and a big percentage of that is because of Cole Palmer’s performances last season, he was outstanding.”

I think he is absolutely spot on here.
