“Love to watch him, want more from him” – Tony Cascarino wants to see more of Chelsea star after what he did in Forest draw

Tony Cascarino, a former Chelsea player, says Jadon Sancho’s performance against Nottingham Forest was disappointing and that he expected more from the winger.

Chelsea were beaten to a 1-1 draw by a tough Forest team, ending their five-game winning streak in all competitions.

Chris Wood put Forest ahead early in the second half before Noni Madueke equalised, and both teams had great chances to win late on, but Robert Sanchez and Matz Sels produced outstanding stops to keep the scores level.

A lot has been made of Chelsea’s attacking quality and their ability to score a lot of goals, but against Forest they found it tough.

The Blues started with the same team that beat Brighton, which meant a third Premier League start in a row for Sancho, as he looked for his fourth assist in four games.

Forest defended well and it made it difficult for Chelsea’s attack, although the Blues were still able to create more than enough chances to win the game.

Madueke was a threat down the right wing, but Sancho had a more difficult afternoon on the left and former Blue Cascarino felt his performance was underwhelming.

“I was just left wanting more from him,” Cascarino told Times Sport as cited on X.com.

“Being ok, which is what he was, is a problem. The truth is that he made it easy for Nottingham Forest’s right back Ola Aina to play against him.

“Chelsea have loads of wingers who can stand wide and pass the ball inside. Sancho can’t afford to be mediocre.”
