In Sunday’s encounter against Newcastle United, Pedro Neto earned a rare Premier League start this season, and many Chelsea supporters expressed the same sentiment on social media on his performance.
Chelsea defeated Newcastle 2-1 at home this weekend to get back to winning ways in the Premier League. They have thereby momentarily risen to fourth place in the division rankings.
After an incredible team play, Nicolas Jackson gave the home team the lead at Stamford Bridge. Alexander Isak of the Toon then equalized in the 32nd minute.
Thankfully, the Blues came out with a spring in their step in the second-half, scoring through Cole Palmer quickly after the restart.
Chelsea fans react to Pedro Neto display
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media were all super impressed by what they saw from Pedro Neto versus Newcastle.
Neto, who was making just his third league start of the season, was heavily involved for 90 minutes.
First of all, the Portuguese winger assisted Jackson’s opening goal with a great pass across goal. Neto accelerated into space to find Palmer’s through ball before teeing up his striker to break the deadlock.
The left-footed attacker went close to scoring himself in the second-half when his header hit the woodwork. Also, he was direct and in a fierce battle during the game with Newcastle right-back Tino Livramento.
