“I don’t want him” “Chelsea can sign him” – Ruben Amorim opens door for Chelsea to sign £83M player after what he said as Man United boss

Ruben Amorim has given Chelsea a lift off the field, despite Chelsea supporters’ expectations that he would be leading Manchester United this weekend.

Ruben Amorim will not be leading Chelsea as Enzo Maresca’s team prepares for their match against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Since Amorim won’t be able to take over until around November 24th, Ruud van Nistelrooy will be in charge of the Red Devils’ match.

When it comes to selecting a left-back, the Chelsea manager has a tough choice to make, and we think Marc Cucurella should just be called up.

One boost that the Blues have received ahead of the game is one on the transfer front, as Ruben Amorim has talked about his stance on a transfer target.

Ruben Amorim hands Chelsea a transfer boost
The January transfer window will provide the opportunity for Chelsea to really strengthen what is an already big squad, with a couple of areas requiring strengthening.

One area is the striker department, as Nicolas Jackson only has the likes of Joao Felix and Marc Guiu as support, and the former isn’t even a Number nine.

Interestingly, Ruben Amorim has now handed Chelsea a transfer boost, having stated that he doesn’t wish to take Viktor Gyokeres away from Sporting CP.

Viktor Gyokeres interested Chelsea in the summer, and they’ve been told that they can land him for around £58 million.

Speaking courtesy of Fabrizio Romano, Amorim said this.

“I’m not going to come for any Sporting player in January. These years at Sporting have been the best years of my life and I won’t forget that”.

Viktor Gyokeres is the form striker in world football right now.

The striker has scored 20 goals in 16 games this season, and even bagged four against CF Estrela yesterday in the Liga Portugal.

Chelsea fans clearly like what they see from Gyokeres, as many of them compared him to Diego Costa after his Champions League display midweek.

Of course, Amorim not wanting to sign him in January is huge, as he surely would have had the upper hand having supported and helped his rise to stardom.

Manchester United could do with a prolific goalscorer. Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund are promising young players, but they just lack that potency in front of goal right now.
