Italian ready to get Chelsea transfer deal done in January window
When the upcoming transfer window opens, Cesare Casedai is thinking about leaving CHELSEA. The Italian star has been urged to leave the Blues after not establishing himself in the first team under Enzo Maresca this season.
The 21-year-old, who has made slightly more than ten appearances for the Blues, came very close to leaving the team in the summer, maybe on loan, but ultimately chose to remain at Stamford Bridge.
In an interview with TuttoSport, Casadei disclosed that Enzo Maresca was crucial in retaining him at Stamford Bridge, even though the manager did not choose him to play in the Premier League this season.
He said, as relayed by Calciomercato: “When I saw Maresca arrive at Stamford Bridge in the summer I was excited.
“We already knew each other because he was my coach in the first six months of last season at Leicester City.”
He was also asked about the speculation surrounding his future that lingered around in the summer.
The Italian said: “After speaking to the coach, I was 100% sure that the decision to stay would be the best. Maresca told me what he thought, I had no doubts.
“I stayed here without considering possible loans. Nor do I think so at the moment for the next winter transfer market.
“I couldn’t be prouder to play for CHELSEA. The competitive spirit was one of the reasons why I decided not to leave.”
Now Casedai is one of the many players that could leave the club in the coming transfer window, according to Yahoo Sports.
