“It’s clear he’s not normal” – Enzo Maresca says on Chelsea star
Following another game-winning effort by the youthful playmaker in Chelsea’s exciting 4-3 comeback triumph over Tottenham, Enzo Maresca was unable to contain his adoration for Cole Palmer. Palmer’s poise, ingenuity, and precision finishing were essential in helping the Blues overcome an early two-goal deficit and earn a vital victory.
Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski gave Tottenham a 2-0 lead in the opening eleven minutes, but Chelsea rallied in a spectacular comeback. Prior to halfway, Jadon Sancho pulled one back, but Palmer’s two penalties—one from a cheeky Panenka—as well as an incredible half-volley from Enzo Fernandez clinched the win.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Maresca was effusive in his praise for Palmer, who now has 11 Premier League goals this season.
“Cole belongs to that kind of player, they are not normal players, they are top players,” Maresca said. “And top players, they do things that normal players or us say ‘how can he do that?’, it’s because he’s Cole, because he’s top. We can expect this from Cole.”
Maresca also commented on Palmer’s audacious Panenka penalty, which left Spurs keeper Fraser Forster helpless.
“The second penalty…he’s cold!” Maresca remarked, summing up the ice-cool mentality of his star performer.
Palmer’s brilliance has propelled Chelsea to within four points of Premier League leaders Liverpool, and his ability to deliver in high-pressure moments continues to underline his importance to the team.
Next up for the Blues is a Conference League clash away to Astana on Thursday, followed by a Premier League showdown against Brentford at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. With Palmer in scintillating form, Chelsea fans have every reason to dream big this season.
Keep dazzling, Cole—and keep the blue flag flying high!
