“He’s the only one to stop Chelsea from winning the league” – Florent Malouda questions Chelsea star, warns Enzo Maresca against Starting him
Robert Sanchez’s ability to guide Chelsea to Premier League success has been questioned by Florent Malouda. Florent Malouda emphasized the value of defensive consistency in contending for trophies while discussing the Blues’ title prospects.
“When I look at the things that worry me about Chelsea in terms of winning the league — a goalkeeper and maybe two centre-backs — Goodison Park is the type of place where something like that could show up,” Florent Malouda said.
He emphasised the significance of challenging fixtures against struggling teams, saying, “If they [Chelsea] can go to Goodison and keep a clean sheet and win, you think, oh, OK. That’s one of those results where it’s a team near the bottom, but you know it’s a tough place to go.”
Despite his concerns, Florent Malouda acknowledged Chelsea’s strong performances this season, stating, “Chelsea have been so impressive this season.”
However, he remained sceptical about Sanchez’s ability to inspire title-winning confidence, concluding, “I just can’t imagine the goalkeeper (Robert Sanchez) lifting [the Premier League trophy].”
