Deal getting closer: Player gives green light to leave Chelsea close to join new club

As of right now, one player has given the all-clear to depart Chelsea and sign with a different team during the January transfer window.

Despite the constant rumors that Chelsea won’t have many new players arriving, January is always a more exciting month for transfer fans. With well-known players like Ben Chilwell at the top of the list of possible departures from Stamford Bridge this month, they do have a number of possible exiting deals that they might be seeking to complete.

But another player expected to depart now as well is midfielder Cesare Casadei, and it looks like he might be out the door on a permanent move as well.

A lot has been reported about his potential pending move to Serie A side Torino, and he has now given the green light to make that move. So on the player side, we are there. What about the club’s sides?

Getting closer

Sky Italia, as relayed by TorinoGranata, have reported that Casadei has now given his approval to a move to the Serie A club.

Talks between the two clubs are scheduled to take place between Tuesday and Wednesday this week and Torino want to come close to Chelsea’s asking price.

As of now, there is a considerable amount of difference between them. Torino are offering a fee of €12m and a big future resale percentage, whereas the Blues want a fee of €20m and a buyback clause in the deal.

The next round of talks could bring the parties closer, with Casadei said to be Torino’s key target for the January transfer window.
