“Take him out” “Is time to bench him” – Enzo Maresca warns to drop struggling Chelsea star ahead of West Ham clash

Ex-Chelsea player Jason Cundy has urged Enzo Maresca to remove Robert Sanchez from the first XI, claiming the goalkeeper’s ongoing errors jeopardize the team.

Chelsea have faced difficulties in the Premier League, securing only one victory in their last seven games, leading to increasing worries about Sanchez’s performance.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Cundy made his stance clear: “Personally, I would take him (Sanchez) out of the firing line. I think the time has come because there is so much noise.”

The 27-year-old Spaniard has been under scrutiny for multiple errors this season, and Cundy believes Maresca must act before things worsen.

“Maresca is being asked pretty much every press conference, whether it be post-match or pre-match, he’s being asked about this. The errors are coming, and the errors are costly.”

Despite Chelsea boasting a deep squad, Maresca has remained loyal to a core group of players, including Sanchez. However, with growing pressure and calls for a change, Filip Jorgensen could be given a chance to step in.

The Blues host West Ham on Monday night, and all eyes will be on Maresca’s team selection to see whether he sticks with Sanchez or makes the bold decision to drop him.
