Argentine player to be at Chelsea in late deal as transfer window ends
According to The Athletic, Chelsea defender Aaron Anselmino will stay at Stamford Bridge, despite the club having reached a loan agreement with Marseille.
Due to the young Argentine’s impressive training performances, Enzo Maresca has altered his plans.
“He has been training with the senior team and head coach Enzo Maresca wants him to remain at Stamford Bridge.”
Another factor in Chelsea’s decision is their limited international loan spots.
“Chelsea also have just six international loan spots to use. They currently have Andrey Santos, Djordje Petrović, and Caleb Wiley at Strasbourg, but the latter is being recalled so he can go to Watford.”
“Renato Veiga has already joined Juventus and Carney Chukwuemeka is set to join Borussia Dortmund today. Deivid Washington is going to be loaned to Santos, which leaves one space for João Félix, who is wanted by two Italian clubs, to secure a transfer away before the deadline.”
With Chelsea carefully managing their loan allocations, Anselmino is now expected to stay and develop under Maresca’s guidance rather than heading to Ligue 1.
