“YES I want Chelsea move” – Another top-player agrees Chelsea transfer – Fabrizio Romano confirms

Fabrizio Romano claims that Dario Essugo, a midfielder for Sporting CP, has accepted a move to Chelsea.4.

The Blues are completing their tasks ahead of schedule. With the announcement on Friday of an agreement to buy Sporting CP’s Geovany Quenda, Chelsea is almost finished with their second acquisition in March.

The 17-year-old wonderkid was signed by Chelsea ahead of Manchester United, and when he formally joins in 2026, he will sign a seven-year contract. He appears to be the lone Sporting star moving to Stamford Bridge, though.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have received the green light from Dario Essugo to join them. The West London club had already been interested in the 20-year-old in January but ultimately signed Mathis Amougou from Saint-Etienne.

Despite the arrival of the Frenchman, Chelsea are trying to bring in Essugo as well.

The Blues are getting their business done early. It is only March and Chelsea are on the verge of wrapping up their second signing following Friday’s news of an agreement to bring in Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP.

Chelsea had managed to beat Man Utd to the signature of the 17-year-old wonderkid, who will sign a seven-year deal when he officially joins in 2026. However, he is seemingly not the only Sporting star making the move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea to sign Essugo
Contrary to reports in Portugal, Chelsea have yet to reach an agreement with Sporting for the transfer of Essugo, who is currently on loan at LaLiga club Las Palmas.

However, Romano reports that the Blues are confident a deal can be struck for a fee in the region of €22 million. It is as yet unclear if Essugo would join Chelsea in the summer, move to sister club Strasbourg on loan or stay at Sporting like Quenda.

Romano did state, though, that Essugo has said ‘yes’ to the BlueCo project, which suggests that his immediate future may initially lie in France with Ligue 1 affiliate Strasbourg.

Essugo has been a regular for Las Palmas this term. The 20-year-old is a Portugal U21 international. He made 25 senior appearances for Sporting before heading to Spain for the season.
