“In my opinion he’s one of Chelsea’s incredible player” – Chelsea makes player Pep Guardiola called “Incredible” Available £45m this summer

Chelsea have reportedly made midfielder Romeo Lavia available for £45 million this summer after an underwhelming season at Stamford Bridge.

Lavia has made just 12 Premier League appearances under Enzo Maresca this season. It is partly due to his struggles with injuries, but also his struggles to find consistent form. Maresca has instead chosen to play the likes of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo in the defensive midfield role.

The Belgian signed for the Blues in August 2023 from Southampton for a hefty fee of £53 million. He has since made just 15 appearances at Chelsea, struggling to find a role in the side.

According to a report by Chelsea News, the Blues are now set to make Lavia available for sale this summer despite him being just 21 years old. They are reportedly open to either selling the midfielder or sending him on loan with an option to buy next season.

The report says that two unnamed Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on his situation as they have an interest in buying the 21-year-old.

Before being at Southampton, Lavia came through the youth teams at Manchester City, and his former manager Pep Guardiola was very fond of the Belgian. He told Man City’s website when he joined the Saints in 2022: “I am really impressed with what Romeo has done and is doing. We had, and have, an incredible opinion about him.”

Who could Chelsea replace Lavia with?

They have recently been linked to former Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, who also plays as a holding midfielder for his current side Napoli.

The Italian side are reportedly willing to sell Anguissa this summer, with the Blues in ‘pole position’ according to recent reports.

Anguissa has made 31 Serie A appearances this season, scoring six goals and providing four assists for Antonio Conte’s side.
