Blues will break league’s transfer record as Chelsea ‘start talks next week to finalise’ signing

The Blues will step up their efforts to sign Motor Lublin’s Bright Ede, This is  according to a report from Poland.

However, The 18-year-old was promoted to the first team in March and has made six appearances for them so far. It was enough to convince Chelsea to bet on him this summer.

Journalist Tomasz Włodarczyk, writing for Meczyki.pl, reports on when Chelsea intend to sign him and their plans for the centre-back.

The Blues will ‘start talks next week to finalise’ the defender’s arrival. He adds they should be able to close the operation before end of June and he’s become the Ekstraklasa record sale.

Meczyki.pl state the current record is at €11m and that everything indicates Ede’s sale to Chelsea will surpass that, without mentioning figures.

Ede won’t be part of Enzo Maresca’s squad immediately because the Premier League club plan to send him on loan to RC Strasbourg.

Both clubs are owned by BlueCo, and Chelsea already sent a few players on loan to the Ligue 1 club.

This includes Mamadou Sarr, who was with the French club this season, and is now part of Maresca’s squad at the Club World Cup. According to Włodarczyk, Ede is set to replace Sarr at Strasbourg next season.

There will be more updates on this case next week.
