JUST IN: Juventus hold surprise talks to sign Chelsea star
Chelsea fans were left frustrated after the Blues let slip a lead against Flamengo to lose 3-1 at the Club World Cup.
It was a terrible result for Enzo Maresca’s side and serious questions need to be asked as they aim to compete for titles next season. And one player who was on the receiving end of a ton of criticism was Nicolas Jackson, who was shown a straight red card merely minutes after coming on and pretty much ending his team’s chances of mounting a comeback.
Jackson has struggled for Chelsea for a while now. His goalscoring got worse last season and he has picked up unnecessary cards for quite some time too.
As a result, a lot of fans have given up on Jackson already. The club have signed Liam Delap this summer. Will they go out and get a second striker before moving on from the Senegal international? Despite the questionable performances, there is some interest in his signature.
As reported by Gianluca DiMarzio, Juventus have sounded Jackson out and have already had exploratory talks. Napoli have also made inquiries.

There is a lot to like about Jackson’s game. In the buildup phase, he is excellent at times and often ends up setting up his teammates. That being said, there are also some glaring weaknesses in his game.
Unfortunately, it does not seem like Jackson is succeeding in improving upon those weaknesses. His finishing remains questionable, and the discipline when it comes to picking up bookings is getting worse.
Chelsea need a consistent goalscorer right now, who can lead the line for the team. There are question marks about whether Jackson can ever be that player. If they can sign a world-class number 9 by parting with the Senegalese international, it has to be considered.
